Safe and efficient palletization for Italian gastronomy
Palcut automatic palletizing saves precious time and money, avoiding productive inconveniences: an example of this is the successful collaboration recently launched with Fratelli Beretta 1812, historical brand of Italian gastronomy.
To cope with the fast pace imposed by the market every year, from its Medolago plant, the company sends 40,000 pallets (ie 1 every 6 minutes). Palletising, which has caused problems before (among other things pallets were collapsing during transport), in particular, has been optimised adopting the Palcut solution.
The solution was a fully automatic sheet dispenser, integrated with the palletising line, cut automatically from a paper roll and fed out individually sheets of Antim anti-slip paper, that replace intermediate sheets made of corrugated cardboard. The packing robot aspires the non-slip sheet and put it on the pallet between the layers of products.
The Antim sheets only weigh 110 g/m², but most importantly: it has a special coating capable of protecting the packs from accidental falls. The coating secures the packaging so that individual layers on the pallets remain stable during transport.
Antim antislip sheets: guaranteed saving
The alternative to anti-slip sheets would have been to double the stretchfilm wound around the pallet.
«Our financial estimate clearly indicated that the Palcut solution with Antim anti-slip sheets is a good cost-reducing investment not only because a significantly fewer pallet collapses, but also because the stretch film charge, the disposal of which is costly, is halved, and there is higher customer satisfaction due to fewer pallet collapses» explains Simone Amigoni, assistant factory manager at Fratelli Beretta.
