Secondary packaging: monoblocks and multifunctional lines
A showroom always open to those who show interest in novelties and the exchange of ideas: with this praiseworthy initiative, Livetech demonstrates in the field the technological advances of its machines, in particular of two secondary packaging systems with robotized islands and independent handling trolleys.
To make up for the lack of international fairs and events cancelled due to the pandemic and, therefore, not to lose direct contact with its customers and partners, Livetech exhibits its latest technological solutions in a showroom that is always open to visitors, set up at its headquarters in Monticello d’Alba (CN).
In the field of secondary packaging systems Livetech has designed and built robotic cells equipped with independent shuttles for internal handling of the boxes. Some of these are already at work in the customers’ facilities, while inside Livetech there are two systems, one for each of the series of machines included in the company’s catalogue: the E-series based on compactness and standardization, and the X-series based on modularity and high performance.
The technological pluspoints
The shuttles, each one individually driven, by mean of high-efficiency linear motors travel along a horizontal ring, and in their pattern they are point-by-point controlled in position and speed.
Compared with traditional solutions, and also with similar ones on the market, this system bring several advantages: a highly easier format changeover; the possibility to place the working stations (forming, filling and sealing) on both sides and not only in line, with the consequent smaller footprint of the machine; the possibility to freely choose how many boxes to have under each station, so that to optimize the work cycles.
Furthermore, one of the solutions implemented by Livetech employs two shuttles for moving each box, in order to have an automatic format changeover accordingly to the box dimensions.
The control and monitoring devices include operating data collection and possibility to interact with the factory network, accordingly to the principles of industry 4.0.
Furthermore, the solution is designed to reduce the environmental impact, on different sides: the energy consumption, the regulations related to the use of harmful substances, the end-of-life disposal.
