ULTRAPACK AMG: new at interpack

At Duesseldorf, Herrmann Ultraschall will focus on the new generator ULTRAPACK AMG, especially suitable for fast-running, multi-lane packaging machines. Due to its slim shape, it can be installed in a row, one next to the other, in 300-mm-deep standard electric cabinets.

Thanks to the expansion in the variety of interfaces and analysis functions, connectivity and monitoring are increased in line with Industrie 4.0. Incorporation of external sensors combined with intelligent analysis in the generator make the sealing process more stable and more independent of fluctuating ambient influences.
In the case of bag or SUP applications, the HDM (High-Precision Distance Measurement) function can detect incorrect or double allocation, skewing, and creasing in the seal area and initiate discharging. The EC (Energy Correction) function continually adjusts the energy input per sealing in correlation with the heating-up of the ultrasonic sealing tools - important with fast-running machines.
Seven of the most important fieldbus types of the major control manufacturers, such as Siemens or Rockwell, can be incorporated. The following functions are available via the existing standard interfaces Ethernet and USB: Device configuration and diagnostics by means of AMGsim software package, weld process analysis, and graphic curve display.

The Top Seal Module TSM for 100% tight top seals.
Streamlined shape and standardized mechanical interfaces - that describes the top seal module TSM. Opening widths of 50 and 100mm between the anvil and sealing tool, the sonotrode, cater to rotary table and inline concepts, and multi-lane lines. The module can be integrated in packaging machines in various ways, using different mechanical interfaces. It can be mounted at one of the two faces or the topside of the top seal module, as preferred. The drive interface can be positioned on the left or right.
The transfer of movement and force build-up are now integrated in the top seal module, while the drive for the closing movement will still be provided by the machine builder. Robust, precise guiding rails ensure the required parallel travel of weld tools. Separation of the drive movement from build-up of force using pre-loaded pneumatic cylinders allows for operation of the module even at high cycle rates. The weld force does not have to be built up, instead the weld process can start directly upon contact of the weld tools. In connection with the optionally available proportional valve, the device provides a high degree of flexibility for setting the weld force, particularly upon format change.
