Automation and industry 4.0 supporting cosmetics logistics and design
Bracchi, the logistics giant, is accelerating on the Industry 4.0 front with strategic investments in automation
Bracchi, the multinational leader in logistics and transport, with eleven logistic hubs and 650 employees, is accelerating its investments in robotics and automation, focusing on themes such as environmental sustainability, workers’ safety and the optimization of costs.
It’s a process which has also been driven by the e-commerce sector that requires ever-faster and safer product storage and sorting activities, imposing new flexible, shared and adaptive distribution models. To support customers that operate in the cosmetics, beaty and design sector, Bracchi has invested in an automatic wrapping machine with rotating arms, a new automated sorter and an innovative pallet scan system.
These technologies are in addition to those used for the wine sector, such as the shuttle pallets managed with wi-fi tablets or the 4-chamber Veit tunnels that make it possible to iron and recondition fashion garments with sanitizing and deodorant treatments. The new solutions have been installed in the logistic hubs of Schio (VI), Oppeano (VR) and in the new site in Castrezzato, in the province of Brescia, a “Leed Gold” certified area of more than 40 thousand sq.m.
