Borsari finalises the acquisition of La Torinese
Industria Dolciaria Borsari is continuing to solidify its position in the premium bakery products segment by finalising the acquisition of La Torinese, a Piedmont-based company that has now been given a new lease of life after entering into an arrangement with creditors in 2018.
Founded in 1932, La Torinese specialises in festive bakery products such as Pandorato and Piemunteis and employs 40 people.
Following the acquisition, the Borsari group now has 8 brands, revenues of around €50 million and more than 500 employees (including seasonal workers) at its 3 production plants in Falconara, Badia Polesine and Turin and at its five stores.
“I’m very pleased with this result, because completing an acquisition is always an important achievement for a company and the entire supply chain,” said Andrea Muzzi, CEO of the Borsari Group. “Our efforts to promote traditional Italian products worldwide have only just begun.”
