PepsiCo invests in its plant in Uttar Pradesh
The plant envisions creating over 1,500 direct and indirect job opportunities a job opportunities and is championing diversity with a target of at least 30 per cent women employees
PepsiCo India has announced expansion plans for its largest greenfield foods manufacturing plant that produces the popular Lay’s potato chips in Kosi Kalan (Mathura) in Uttar Pradesh. The company is all set to further invest $24 million (INR 186 crore) for the expansion of its foods manufacturing facility in Mathura, taking the overall investment to $131 million (INR 1022 crore).
The investment will increase capacity at the plant, by introducing a new manufacturing line to produce snacks under its Doritos brand.
The plant expansion will create over 1,500 direct and indirect jobs and develop farming partnerships with over 5,000 local potato farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
PepsiCo entered India in 1989 and has grown to become one of the largest food and beverage businesses in India.
