Surge in spirits in Asia-Pacific region

According to GlobalData research, the spirits sector in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to see significant growth over the next four years with revenues reaching $517.2 billion in 2022 compared to $398.2 billion in 2017 (corresponding to a CAGR of 5.4%).

Australia, Hong Kong, China and New Zealand are the major consumer countries, while the dominant segment with 79% of the sector’s total value in 2017 is that of specialty spirits, regional products that are considered healthier and higher quality than those of the mass market.

The six key distribution channels for spirits in the Asia-Pacific region are hypermarkets and supermarkets, convenience stores, food and drinks specialists, e-retailers, vending machines, on-trade and other general retailers.
