IFCO Lift Lock RPCs become Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver
IFCO has gained Cradle to Cradle Certified® (Version 3.1) Silver level certification in Europe for its RPC Lift Lock line of RPC containers, the first and only fresh-food RPCs to meet this ambitious sustainability standard. This is an important milestone for the Veneto-based company, which for years has been operating an eco-friendly business model by offering responsibly produced food packaging in full compliance with the principles of the circular economy.
All IFCO solutions are designed to be reused and last on average for around 100 cycles. If they are damaged, the RPCs are repaired. And if this is not possible they are 100% recycled to produce new containers, a practice which, along with the Silver level, also won the company a Gold Award in the assessment category of Material Reutilization.
As well as reducing supply-chain packaging waste, Lift Lock RPCs also help keep food undamaged, significantly reducing food waste.
The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute is committed to sustaining the circular economy by promoting products that have a positive impact on people and the planet. Through the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products programme, the Institute provides manufacturers with a rating system that allows them to take a step-by-step approach to producing products that improve the quality of life and the environment.
