During the performance of presence controls in automated intralogistics and packaging processes, the sensors technology must guarantee a secure recognition of different objects. 

Control of the sensor, including assembly, alignment and regulation, needs to be achieved rapidly and easily, especially given that there are often many sensors to be installed.

As a result, standardisation, on the one hand, and adaptation of the sensor to the individual needs of the customer, on the other hand, are important for the economical implementation of a system.

Leuze has developed an enhanced generation of sensors precisely to meet these requirements: the new economically viable 5B series ensures perfect control and secure recognition, also in cases of depolarising objects (such as pallets, cartons, or containers often wrapped in film). Presence control on the packaging line occurs by means of through-beam photocells.
