New identity for the Bologna PDO Potato
Direct exchange with a panel of consumers invited to assess the consistency of the visual and communication messages has enabled the Consorzio di Tutela Patata di Bologna DOP (Consortium for the protection of the Bologna PDO Potato) to bring to supermarket shelves the values of a unique Italian variety of potatoes.
With regards to the graphic identity, the Consortium has chosen to use warmer colours linked to tradition and a quality photographic treatment aimed at supporting product positioning. Specifically, the new image transmitted to the interviewees attributes of naturalness, quality and tradition, essential characteristics for the path of excellence that the Consortium pursues through PDO certification, rightly performing the role of guarantor, as highlighted by the interviewees.
The PDO certification and the “Coltivatori di valori” (Cultivation of values) traceability project are now communicated to consumers via a QR code positioned on the front of the package, making it possible to discover the location and history of the farm that has cultivated the potatoes in that bag.
