A true cosmetics hub has been created from the convergence of expertise between the IMA Group and Omas Tecnosistemi, a leading company in the beauty sector with its headquarters in Cerro Maggiore (Milano). The Echoes of Beauty event, held during Ipack-Ima 2025, continues to resonate, illustrating a merger that has further elevated the already high level of competence brought to the market by the two players.

What advantages has the partnership delivered after its first year of activity?
“The combination of our skills has brought together IMA’s excellence with the strengths of Omas Tecnosistemi, positioning us at the top of the cosmetic filling market”, explains Savino Giudici, CEO of Omas Tecnosistemi. “IMA’s strength in pharmaceuticals and secondary packaging is now enhanced by Omas’ expertise, resulting in a manufacturing capacity that sits within a highly specialised ecosystem. Italy is consolidating its position as a leader in cosmetics across the entire value chain, from training academies to players capable of managing product development from design to packaging. We are therefore an integral part of an industrial and manufacturing ecosystem such as that of Lombardy, a component of a supply chain recognised worldwide for its excellence. It is no coincidence that major beauty brands choose to manufacture here: this is where they find everything they need to stay competitive, with access to top-tier creativity, passion and Italian craftsmanship across every aspect of design and production. The recognition we receive from the market is evident in our growth: from 20 employees in 2010 to today’s 150, with expansion plans by 2026 to increase our current 12,000 m2 facility to a total of 22,000 m2”.

Echoing Giudici’s remarks, Agostino Consolini, Sales Director of IMA Cosmetic, Personal Care & Toiletry Sector, adds: “In the IMA–Omas partnership I see two companies that share the same core principles: delivering technology worldwide while giving customers something more – customisation, expertise and a tailored approach. This shared culture is at the heart of the success generated by combining our strengths in complementary sectors. We therefore speak a common language, one that enables us to approach innovation with the same mindset when developing lines capable of producing tens of thousands of pieces per hour or just a few hundred, thanks to highly flexible, rapid changeover solutions”. We therefore can offer production lines that meet the most diverse needs, from small to large-scale manufacturing, and manage multiple formats and formulations simultaneously. Our strength lies precisely in our ability to support the customer with a truly comprehensive approach”.

What impact do automation, AI and machine learning have on your applications?
“Speaking of artificial intelligence”, begins Consolini, “its impact is significant, both in vision control systems and potentially in automatic adjustments: AI can enable machines to recognise product dimensions and adapt autonomously. In terms of product development, the acquisition of data and the use of predictive models allow the reformulation of recipes with greater speed and flexibility. The increased computational power therefore helps to further optimise production processes. In short, we see artificial intelligence as an advanced tool for data analysis, capable of providing complex insights that simplify and improve many aspects of production”.The discussion then turns to automation, on which Savino Giudici says: “Automation requires proper planning, otherwise the investment risks exceeding production capacity and losing its effectiveness. That is why Omas and IMA support customers at every stage of the project, aiming to boost productivity through the design of highly advanced automated lines, capable of meeting the demands of leading global players. Italy remains a key reference point for them across the entire supply chain, from training and production to final packaging”.
