Rajapack: 20 years of innovation and sustainability at MECSPE 2026

From March 4 to 6, RAJA Group exhibited at MECSPE, the leading international trade fair for the manufacturing industry: the Rajapack stand was conceived as three experiential areas, where the number 20, the theme of the March general catalogue, acted as the guiding element.

It was not just an anniversary, but a symbol of a journey built together with customers. Since 2006, the year the Italian branch opened, RAJA Group supported companies with a comprehensive packaging offering.

Packaging was our core business: in addition to marketing boxes, symbols of our expertise, we expanded our range and services, responding to market developments and investing in digitalization to provide our customers with a single point of contact. The launch of e-commerce in 2011, with its 3,000 products online, which was awarded the Netcomm Gold Seal in 2013, marked a key milestone in building an integrated omnichannel experience,” the French company explained.

At the same time, we strengthened our ESG commitment to rapidly adapt to European environmental regulations and to integrate sustainability into our business as a strategic driver. The constant monitoring of the actions undertaken led us to publish our first Sustainability Report in 2022 and, in 2023, to join the Packaging Ethics Charter and obtain FSC and COC certifications.

In 2024, the inauguration of the new state-of-the-art Distribution Center in Castelletto Cervo marked another chapter of growth.

The highlight of the stand at MECSPE was DecisionTower™ Ranpak, the solution that represented the next step in sustainable innovation for packaging lines. Positioned at the end of the line and combined with the FillPak Trident™ Ranpak paper converter, it optimized the filling phase intelligently: thanks to AI vision technology, it measured empty spaces in each box and automatically inserted the ideal amount of paper material, complying with the 40% empty space limit set by EU regulations.

Real-time volumetric scanning, combined with the use of triangular paper cushions, enabled a reduction of up to 35% in filling material, with a positive impact on both operating costs and sustainability. The software collected data on each parcel, providing reports useful for demonstrating compliance with the PPWR Regulation. DecisionTower™ also ensured high production performance, reaching up to 20 packages per minute.

It also stood out for its ease of use: it required minimal operator training and integrated easily into existing lines thanks to its compact, space-saving configuration. Designed for high-intensity environments, it was an ideal solution for fulfillment centers and production plants with high volumes, where it ensured reliability and operational continuity while reducing manual labor.

Alongside this innovation, visitors were also able to see in operation both air and paper filling systems already well established on the market, such as Fill-Air® Rocket™ and GUARDIAN® Ranpak, concrete examples of the company’s ongoing pursuit of quality, efficiency, and innovation.
