Multifunctional electric grippers

Available for the Italian market from December 2019, Oriental Motor offers the new EH series of multifunctional grippers.

Easy to use, they are moved by a rack and pinion mechanism driven by a stepper motor with integrated absolute mechanical encoder and by a 24VDC drive of the Alpha Step AZ series. The maximum opening of the grippers of 25 mm (12.5 mm per direction in 0.02 mm steps) and the gripping force (max. 25 Nw adjustable from 6 to 25 Nw.ca.) are programmable.

The drive communicates the data to the gripper through an integrated programmer or, alternatively, via the RS485 input, pulse train or EtherCat (currently only in multi-axis version).

The simple adjustment of the force and the setting time, as well as the speed according to the object to be grasped, allow a delicate grip like that of a hand.

The motor approaches the load at high speed, decelerating just before coming into contact with the surface at low speed. The grip is safe and reliable even for objects that can easily break or deform, such as those in glass and plastic.

The coordinate monitoring functions from the gripper present in the driver, sent to a host PLC, also allow you to measure the size of the load before gripping.
