Reduction gears for delta robots

From WITTENSTEIN, mechatronic solutions for perfect scaling in construction of parallel axis robots.

Parallel axis (delta) robots are often often rare finds, especially in the food sector. Closely associated with conveyance and sorting systems requiring robots with two, three or four axes, they are used for processes with very high numbers of cycles, quick and highly dynamic motion and long operating cycles. These are transmissions in which the axes must withstand multiple impacts and loads.
By combining many years of engineering experience, sophisticated expertise in simulation and scaling, and a vast portfolio of high performance products, WITTENSTEIN offers manufacturers of parallel axis robots the security of optimal scaling, both from a technical and from an economic standpoint, even for highly dynamic multiaxis motion profiles.

Calulations and simulations for optimal performance. Based on careful analysis of the tasks which the robot must carry out, and the conditions of the environment in which it must function, theoretical calculations are made to map the multidimensional motions in the space and identify interactions with other moving components. Then, using a multibody simulation, the optimal torques are precisely calculated, as well as load data and possible dynamic effects, such as vibrations caused by the transmission. At this phase it is also important to identify overload factors and use them to achieve broader fields of configuration and application, ensuring greater energy efficiency and reducing overall bulk at the plant.

A complete offer. The WITTENSTEIN offer ranges from the “simple” TP+ reduction gear, compact and precise, with output flange, to the high performance TPM+. Both series are available in both standard and HIGH TORQUE® versions, the latter especially recommended where maximum torsional rigidity is required.
The offer of reduction gears also includes the DP+ series, specifically designed for delta applications. Available with reduction ratios ranging from 16 to 55, these models can also be requested for applications in direct contact with food (EHEDG-certified).
For primary and secondary packaging in the pharmaceutical and medical sectors, cyber® dynamic line micromotors are also very popular. They can reach up to 345 Watts. This system can be supplemented with the smart, compact simco® drives, available in both a decentralized version (with IP65 protection grade) and one for electrical cabinets (IP20). The cyber® dynamic line drives are also available in a Hygienic version.
The Hygienic Design solutions, in particular, are characterized by extreme resistance to aggressive substances, high dynamicity and power density, easy assembly, low maintenance costs, the highest safety standard and easy cleaning.
