Italian Technology in the USA
Pack Expo 2012 is an important packaging sector show-event, scheduled 28th to 31st October in Chicago. Cama USA, the US branch of the Cama group, will be taking part as a leading light, offering a preview on the US market some of its secondary packaging lines which are sure to arouse interest.
For the first time in U.S., Cama Group will introduce the Cama-SPS packaging line that is composed of a Multi Delta robotic loading system, which can pick naked products arriving randomly from production line and position them correctly into the SPS continuous motion horizontal flow-wrapper (picture 1)
Thanks to the dynamism and skills of the company’s RD section, Cama has recently developed this innovative robotics system that can integrate up to four Delta “Triaflex” robots in one single loading unit.
Robotised island. The Cama Triaflex robots are guided by an artificial vision system, which guarantees automatic recognition of the products according to their type. The products coordinated by the different robots to be loaded either in their final package or into the infeed of another packaging machine. The system is able, through one multi-axes open architecture controller, to manage up to four Triaflex 4 axis robots (16 axes in total), with two additional service axes available for additional motion control.
Taking advantage of the optimal technical characteristics of the multiple axes control, combined to the highly reliable Cama systems, this application offers many advantages to the final user: less cost, thanks to the single multi-axes controller; higher system modularity; reduced footprint of electrical cabinet; simplified system hardware and software.
New side loader. At Pack Expo Chicago Cama will also launch its new “bag in box” application for cereals. In the secondary packaging market of side loading systems, Cama’s CL cartoning machines stand out for their technological innovation and high added value: reduced footprint, flexibility, ergonomics and line operator’s accessibility, combined with an easy maintenance of the plant are the most appreciated features by the customers. Wrap around. Finally, on PFM’s booth Cama will feature its FW749 wraparound case packer (picture 3) for both display ready and conventional case packing. This integrated solution features flexibility and quick changeover packing bags or rigid products in a compact footprint.
Depending upon the configuration required, products are positioned by means of suitable loading systems into the case flat, on edge or standing up on one or multiple layers. The Cama Case Packer is a “tried-and-tested” machine, granting extreme reliability as well as flexibility in order to meet the various market requirements.
