Pepsico begins work on the new Novosibirsk plant
With an investment of approximately $159 million, Pepsico has begun construction work on its third savoury snack production plant in Russia.
Located in Novosibirsk, in the Siberian Federal District, the new facility will have a production capacity of 60,000 tons/year and has been designed in full compliance with energy saving and environmental sustainability criteria.
If no delays occur due to the pandemic, the first two lines are expected to become fully operational in 2021.
The project will create about 900 new jobs and has received the full support of the Novosibirsk government, which sees the initiative as a major opportunity for the local economy and local farmers.
Pepsico has more than 20 production plants in Russia and has invested over US $10 billion to date.
