Raised in Capri, Sonia Pedrazzini graduated in Industrial Design at ISIA in Rome with Paolo Deganello and Andries Van Onck.

She lived in Munich and specialized in packaging design for the cosmetic sector working with the Dieter Bakic Design agency. Back in Italy in 1995, she founded her own studio in Piacenza, where she lives.

Sonia develops projects between art and design, also dealing with graphics and art direction. She has consolidated her skills, which she often combines with teaching and writing: she conceived the packaging culture magazine Impackt Contenitori e Contenuti by Edizioni Dativo, which she edited with Marco Senaldi between 2001 and 2010.

The creative path is marked by the collaboration with companies such as Venini, 224 Porcelain and Hiroaki Husui for Hands on Design, Ritzenhoff, Fedrigoni, Molteni&C, Schwarzkopf & Henkel, Blumarine, Swatch, Make up Factory, Kanebo, Mary Kay, B.B.B. Over, Centro Studi Alessi.

From 2014 to 2016 she follows the art direction of Francesca Dell’Oro Parfum, with which she won the FiFI Awards Russia for the best niche packaging.

Interested in the theme of self-production and craftsmanship, in 1998 she created Le Morandine, a collection of objects inspired by Giorgio Morandi’s still lifes; a work in progress “starting from Morandi and going beyond Morandi”.

The project has been selected by ADI Design Index 2013 and included in the book “I talenti italiani” (Italian talents) by A. Cappellieri and M. Pirola for Fondazione Cologni (Marsilio Editori, 2020).

Characterized by formal elegance and chromatic refinement, Sonia’s artistic works often recall the atmospheres of Capri and the Mediterranean: eclectic, narrative and poetic, they casually cross references to popular culture, art and society.

Sonia Pedrazzini Design Atelier is a sui generis creative studio, a place of dialogue and exchange where sartorial, sustainable and valuable projects are born.

Professional ethics and rigor are put in first place. Each work is made with the utmost accuracy and competence. Thanks to the versatility of Sonia’s experience and the ample space dedicated to research, the studio is able to follow clients operating in different fields, both in industrial production and in smaller and artisanal realities.
