Automation. In total safety

Pilz invites SPS visitors to discover its 2016 breakthroughs at stand A026, Hall 3. In order to highlight its active role in Industry 4.0 design, this year the concern will also have a presence at Know How 4.0, in Hall 4, where it will bring its qualified contribution in the application of IT and automation in non-traditional fields.

To this end, Pilz has developed the PSS 4000 automation system, which enables optimized interaction of hardware and software components, network devices and realtime Ethernet, based on an innovative approach.
The subdivision into safety function sequences makes it possible to distribute those functions peripherally, making possible centralized monitoring of distributed automation structures, guaranteeing maximum ease of management for the user (which can create their own program and thus a project in which to configure and program all corresponding nodes).

The combination of safety functions and automation is at the heart of the PSS 4000, and the user can use intuitive solutions to manage both functions. The system is physically mixed but requires no mutual influence among the parts. The programmer or user can combine configuration with functional modules or source code programming and EN/IEC 61131-3 standard compliant editors. The centerpiece of this system is the PAS4000 software platform, which contains various editors and modules and offers a single programming environment for setup and logics programming.
Finally, whereas before the choice of hardware was a necessary step at the start of planning and programming, with PSS 4000 this selection process and the subdivision of programs in the hardware can be put off until later.
