Efficient vacuum generation
Schmalz, the vacuum specialist, at Ipack-Ima 2015 (Hall 10 - Stand E28) will be presenting the compact series of SCPS/SCPSi ejectors with the new Eco nozzle system.
From the vacuum specialist Schmalz, the compact series of SCPS/SCPSi ejectors (ideal for highly dynamic handling processes) with the new Eco nozzle system. The ecoPump SEP ejector module (left) is also available separately.
The high energy efficiency vacuum generators lend themselves to be used in a series of highly dynamic handling processes. Schmalz’ new Eco nozzle technology has further optimized ejector energy efficiency, reducing compressed air consumption by up to 15 percent during active vacuum generation, while also increasing the suction rate by approximately 15 percent, meaning that this series can safely handle not only airtight products, but also porous cardboard.
In the first case Schmalz has enhanced the compact SCPS/SCPSi ejectors for dense parts: the new series allows reducing the evacuation time to reach -600 mbar and thus the handling speed increases of 10%.
A compact module. Schmalz also offers the high efficiency compact SCPS/SCPSi ejector module ecoPump SEP separately, thus further extending the range of possible applications.
The Schmalz ecoPump SEP compact module is an ideal component for generating decentralized vacuum. The ability to integrate it directly on the suction cup enables the minimisation of power losses while offering short cycle times.
Thanks to the wide operating range from -250 to -850 mbar different pieces can be handled with maximum reliability: even flexible materials or bags can be picked up safely thanks to the high loss compensation.
EcoPump SEP is available in three diameters of integration (7, 13 and 22 mm) with varying degrees of power and two distinct features: a High Flow (HF) variant developed to optimize fuel consumption in the case of items made with porous materials (such as cartons) and a High Vacuum (HV) variant for specific airtight pieces, such as ampules in the pharmaceutical sector.
The helpful selection aid quickly guides the user to the right ejector module for the application on the basis of the material to be handled, the distance of the module from the suction point, and the necessary suction rate.
The integration of ecoPump SEP on the machine is simple and saves space, because the module can be positioned right where the vacuum is needed. Disassembly and cleaning are also easy, no tools being required.
SCHMALZ is worldwide supplier of vacuum technology in the automation, handling and clamping field. Its products are used in a whole host of manufacturing processes: as is the case of the grippers on robot arms in the production of bodywork, in CNC machining centers as clamping solutions for furniture pieces or with an operator for manual handling tasks (from boxes to solar modules). Headquartered in Glatten in the Black Forest, Schmalz is present in 17 countries around the world with its own branch and 850 employees.
