Etifiale PRO: the evolution

Latest generation electronics, remote controls and ergonomics: the key innovations of the new Etifiale PRO pharmaceutical labeling system developed by Etipack.

The ambitious restyling project of the historical ETIFIALE model has been guided by important innovations concerning electronics and ergonomics. Etipack has in fact conceived the new labeling machine for pharmaceutical vials ETIFIALE PRO to allow the operator high autonomy and flexibility in the management and control of inspection and maintenance functions and operations.

An evolved control panel
The most innovative element is certainly the control panel designed to offer maximum manageability. Equipped with advanced electronics with Siemens S7 SERIES S1500 PLC for the constant diagnosis of the peripherals according to the requirements of the pharmaceutical sector, it is integrated on a special mobile swinging arm that allows wide freedom of movement. Composed of an AISI304 casing that integrates an ASEM Panel PC 12" 4/3 lowpower, an operator interface based on SCADA technology in W10 Embedded environment and a Sql Server Express Database, it allows the remote management of the system and remote assistance on panel PC and PLC.

The panel is enabled to manage In/Out PLC for the maintenance analysis: it offers the possibility to consult the electrical diagrams and the instruction manual and to activate the LoTo functions on the electrical and pneumatic power supply to better manage the maintenance processes. Conceived according to GMP guidelines and specific for the pharmaceutical environment, the panel also allows the management of FailSafe functions, of the production batch and the collection of CFR21/Events/Alarms reports and production data, as well as the carousel position control.

Label vials and manage waste with the utmost accuracy
The special Energy 100 high-production labeling machine for the pharmaceutical sector is positioned outside the guards to ensure high accessibility, thus facilitating the loading and unloading of the reels and the adjustment of the machine as well as management, inspection and maintenance activities.

Equipped with a stepper motor with magnetic encoder, it reaches a distribution speed of up to 60 m/min. The ergonomic touch screen display makes it possible to manage start and stop delays, configure over 50 operating parameters and save customized configurations.

The same parameters can be remote-controlled on the labeling system panel. The special retractable blade positioned at the labeling point allows for precise and smooth application of the label to the vial.

The versatility of the system also emerges from the point of view of printing possibilities and control of variable data: the ETIFIALE PRO labelling machine for pharmaceutical vials features a station for the control of the labelling with a UV barrier. It is also possible to add a printing unit for the overprinting of variable data and the consequent vision system for the control of overprinting.
Another strong point is the advanced waste management.

The system is equipped with a pneumatic ejector device for unsuitable products, which are conveyed into an extractable drawer, and with a control device that certifies that the product has been rejected. The quality level is further ensured by the presence of a control of the good product at the outlet.

As far as format changeover management is concerned, the ETIFIALE PRO labeler for pharmaceutical vials has also inherited the distinctive feature of all Etipack systems: both the carousel and the guides are changed quickly and easily without the use of any tools.
