Machines, lines and virtual reality

The Marchesini Group is one of the top exhibitors at Achema 2018, the main event for the chemical and pharmaceutical sector. Spotlight on cutting-edge technologies Made in Italy, with interesting innovations in track&trace, serialization, Industry 4.0 and aseptic packaging.

800 square meters that will not go unnoticed at Achema 2018, the global showcase among the most accredited for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. The exhibition area set up by Marchesini (Pianoro, BO) will host five lines and six stand-alone machines, for the packaging of liquids and solids, integrated with intelligent systems for a rigorous process control.

And, as tradition has it, to accompany visitors on a “high-tech” tour, the warmth of a typically Italian welcome, with a large bar and restaurant area, where guests can enjoy food from the Emilia-Romagna gastronomic tradition.
Among the novelties of the 2018 format, a virtual reality location to interactively show some important technological developments proposed on the international market.

Peak lines: sterile environment and “smart control” systems
Among the most interesting solutions in the liquid and aseptic area, Marchesini proposes Capsy, a rotary sealing machine for closing SPV (Small Parenteral Volume) bottles in a sterile environment, in line with the new Stery LA under Isol-Air insulator, the prime product of the Marchesini Group.

In the solid packaging area, a preview that responds to the most advanced needs of customers with a view to 4.0 integration: the Integra 320 robotized blister line. It is a solution equipped with the Valida power system (with 5 cameras for a multivision control of shape, thickness and color of the tablets) and an NIR active ingredient recognition system. Among the innovations on board the machine we report a SCADA system, developed in collaboration with SEA Vision (a company that has just joined the Marchesini galaxy) that gives the operator a complete check of the mechanical and functional health of the machine, thanks to a constant tracking of quality parameters.
Finally, a predictive maintenance system has been installed on the line, capable of recognizing any type of mechanical error and suggesting planned maintenance actions.

Single machines for end-of-line and serialization
The roundup of previews continues with three new machines or machines fitted with new features. These are the BLH 235 labelers for lying products (such as pens, lipsticks and mascara) and BLA 525 CW for cartons. The latter solution, realized to reach the speed of 520 pieces per minute, also performs Track&Trace and weight control operations.

It is equipped with a load cell fully integrated into the conveyor system, which allows the position of the cartons and their weight to be checked at any time, discarding any defective products according to a “Fail Safe” type working logic.

Lastly, among the most awaited solutions on the international market, we mention Track-Pack, the monoblock for serialization and aggregation made up of the BL A415 labeler and the PS 300 casepacker. Among the strengths of the solution, the possibility of being equipped with tamper evident heads for the application of self-adhesive anti tamper seals on the corners of the carton closures. Extremely compact, the machine is equipped with a patented “cadenzer” device, to space out and correctly position the cartons on toothed tapes with adjustable opening, which prevent any slippage.
