Narrow web digital printing: progress

The HP Indigo 8000 digital printing systems and upgrades for HP Indigo WS6800, 20000 and 30000 will become available during 2016: the great global showcase of drupa will allow HP Inc. to anticipate new opportunities guaranteed to flexible packaging and folding carton converters. Below is a summary of the features.

• By setting a new benchmark for productivity in the narrow-web digital printing systems, the new HP Indigo 8000 Digital Press enables high-volume converters end-to-end label production at double speeds (up to 80 meters/minute). Working in-line or off-line with the semi-rotary die-cut units ABG FAST Track, the system ensures an efficient digital workflow, providing real-time quality based on AVT inspection technology.

• The HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press System now has an update package that provides greater compatibility with different media (PE or stretch film), new color capabilities for advanced color matching and faster processing times than in the past, thanks to  the  HP Indigo Pack Ready Lamination technology (with treatment time down to  zero, and an immediate time-to-market).

• Updating the HP Indigo 30000 system increases productivity by 30%, enabling a large number of jobs per day. As well as on paper, the system also ensures maximum efficiency on substrates with metallic finishes and different materials (PVC, PP and PET). It can also print security elements (micro text and barcodes).

A reminder that HP Indigo 8000, WS6800 and 20000 digital printing systems can use HP ElectroInk White Premium, a new versatile ink that helps converters provide a wider range of opacity levels.
