Open Factory 2019: the “AI all-around innovation” project is underway

From 10 to 12 April, a two-pronged commitment for Marchesini Group. In addition to the active participation in the Pharmintech fair, at the same time it opens the doors of the Pianoro company, to show its “4.0” solutions capable of creating a Smart Factory.

In the days of Open Factory, Marchesini Group will guide its customers to discover the state of the art of Industry 4.0 technologies. In particular, they will see a blister packaging line on which, for the first time, the paradigms of the fourth technological revolution coexist: from the interconnection of systems to machine learning up to the analysis of big data.

This line, the focal point of the initiative at Pianoro, will be formed upstream by an Integra 320 equipped with the  Valida  feed system - which uses 5 cameras for a multivision control of shape, thickness and color of the tablets - and a NIR (Near Infrared System) system of active principle recognition.
There will also be a SCADA system - which gives the operator a complete check of the mechanical and functional health of the machine thanks to a constant monitoring of quality parameters - and a predictive maintenance system capable of recognizing any type of mechanical error and suggest scheduled maintenance actions.
Completing the downstream plant, the BLA 420 CW labeler with weight control, which has a Sicpa hologram label, as well as the horizontal cartoner for MC 820 TT track and trace.

Un ecosistema connesso
Thanks to the work of  its  strategic partner SEA Vision,Thanks to the work of  its  strategic partner SEA Vision, the Marchesini line has a complete package on board to meet the needs of Industry 4.0, as can be seen in detail:
- the machine is transformed from a semi-closed system to a totally open ecosystem, which supplies data from the inside to the outside (for example, the production data) while receiving  from the outside inwards (for example production orders). Thanks to the OPC UA protocol and the interconnection of the technologies, a complete communication is achieved not only within the factory (between the machines themselves and the management systems such as ERP and MES) but also between the machines and the bodies outside the company (like those that provide the serial codes to be used). In this way, connectivity is promoted at every level;
- SEA Vision has also created YUDOO, an advanced and modular software suite, in which several functions have been incorporated, subdivided into packages selectable by the customer, depending on the information requested.

The platform allows the analysis and management of all data to and from the outside. The end result is a userfriendly framework that will improve the user experience of the line and will enable a strategic tool for business intelligence.
YUDOO will help to bring to the surface a huge amount of data that, usually, remains hidden in the production environment and that can now be selected, interpreted and transformed into information; in turn, this information will be used in various areas, for example to improve the quality of the production process by making it possible to correct errors in advance or to easily identify the causes of production declines and to bring the unplanned downtimes to zero, anticipating routine maintenance.

Once fully operational, these technologies will transform the factory into a Smart Factory: a totally interconnected environment in which machines, people and information systems interact to create innovative products, services and work environments.
The combined use of information will open up a world of endless opportunities and, in the  Marchesini Group they are convinced, knowing how to grasp it is the real challenge of the manufacturing world.

Marchesini Group: machines at the fair

From April 10 to 12 Marchesini Group exhibits at Pharmintech, the domestic event dedicated to the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmoceutical and biotechnology industries.
The  Marchesini stand will feature the exhibition of Trackpack (photo 1), the new all-in-one solution for serialization, tamper evident and aggregation procedures: a machine with a compact layout - 3.5 meters long and 2.3 meters wide - that works intuitively allowing the operator to avoid many manual procedures.
The RS1, a machine for the inspection and testing of injectable products is also a stand-alone and is made by CMP.PHAR.MA Srl, a company specialized in the production of inspection systems for the pharmaceutical world, which came into the Marchesini galaxy in December 2018.
At the heart of the stand will be a Corima line, with Stery LA filler (photo 2)equipped with Isol-Air isolator designed by Marchesini Group and by Capsy, a rotary sealer for the closure of SPV bottles(Small Parenteral Volume) in a sterile environment.
These machines give life to a solution able to fully satisfy the requirements imposed by the regulatory bodies for injectable products and also halve the washing, drying and decontamination times compared to traditional solutions.
