PAC reduces development times and costs
Designed for the global market, the IEC61131-3 axis controller known as Parker Automation Controller (PAC) combines machine logic, real time motion control and visual display in a high performance solution.
Thanks to EtherCAT communication, integrated motion control, I/Os and Parker Automation Manager application software (Integrated Development Environment or IDE), PAC offers OEMs a precision engineered solution for the most demanding applications.
The package, which includes a single, intuitive development environment, offers a programming language that complies with industrial programming standards. Furthermore, thanks to network connectivity and communication, PAC can transmit data in real time when and where necessary.
The Automation Manager software offers engineers an environment capable of making the most of their expertise and working with maximum efficiency using the complete IEC61131 programming language suite and PLCopen function blocks.
PAC is easy to integrate into an existing factory network and connect with third party devices. The controller is offered standard with various communication protocols, including OPC Server, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, double LAN and optionals for Ethernet/IP, Profinet and Profibus.
In short, the new controller’s approach based on industrial standards enables quickly developing applications, reducing setup and startup times. All this to meet the demanding and complex requirements of the machinery of the future.
Parker Hannifin Corporation, with sales of approximately 13 billion USD in 2015, is a global leader in the production of a diverse range of motion & control technologies and systems. For 59 consecutive years, the concern has increased annual dividends to its shareholders, one of the top five growth records in the history of the S&P 500. Today, Parker supplies solutions designed for a wide array of industrial, furniture and aerospace markets, employing 55,000 people in 50 countries around the world. Recently, following the transfer of the concern’s Dijon operations, it celebrated the opening of a new site in Longvic, also in France, for the production of servomotors: 4,700 m2, of which 3,600 m2 dedicated to production, with 92 employees, 17 of whom in R&D. The new facility produces tailored motors, built according to the customer’s specifications and with high added value. Last year, 32,000 motors were sold, the majority of them for export to 37 countries worldwide. |
