Human protection Valmatic single-dose packs are part of the packaging range of Deisa Ebano Spa, which employs them for a newly conceived product in the Zig Zag line that is effective against pesky insect bites.

Deisa Ebano Spa of Bologna works with eco-chemicals that heal, protect and defend with a refreshing aroma, correcting even the smallest imperfections, restoring and cleaning. The concern’s name has a long history in the sector, starting in 1926, when it began to produce and market “Made in Italy” products under the brands Ebano (household cleaning products), Calzanetto (shoe polish) and Zig Zag (insecticides). And while safety and quality are the factors that have sustained the concern’s market growth, it is its capacity for offering innovative solutions with a high service content that has piqued the appetites of consumers.
From an encounter with Valmatic, which specializes in fashioning single-dose containers, one of Deisa Ebano Spa’s latest innovations is born: Zig Zag line sting and bite care.

The advantages. Valmatic has developed a pack that contains 2 strips of five 1 ml ampoules of product. The plastic film used for the ZigZag body care doses is a multi-layer with EVOH (the oxygen barrier keeps the product stable over time). Thanks to a pre-perforated top, the practical ampoules can be easily opened and used even away from home, convenient and light, they can be carried in a purse to work, school, etc. The case is equipped with a Europa hole for easy hanging, guaranteeing on-shelf visibility. Deisa Ebano appreciated the functionality, precise dosage control and fragrance preservation guarantee of Valmatic’s thermoformed single-dose packs, such that the concern considers this a packaging solution capable of “creating” an innovative product. And on top of this should be noted the quality guarantee: until the moment the ampoule is opened and used, the topical solution remains in a microbiologically controlled environment, while the other doses remain protected in their separate packs, ready for later use.

Valmatic, today
The earthquake that struck the Emilia region in May 2012 did not interrupt Valmatic’s work: in spite of the tremors, from its facility in San Prospero di Modena, the concern continued to operate, and today the company enjoys a growing turnover (thanks in particular to its market share in non-EU countries), as well as a significant increase in the number of customers that believe in one-time use packaging.
Since 1980 through to today, Valmatic has consolidated its experience in the field of thermoforming-filling machinery for the production of plastic laminated single-dose packs; in addition to the wide field of application of these containers - designed for the pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetics and food sectors, - the concern also accepts subcontracts for single-dose packaging of liquids, gels, creams and powders in containers with capacities between 0.5 and 100 ml and more. The concern has obtained numerous official authorizations from the Italian government, such as that for packaging medical and surgical protection, that for animal feed supplements and that for nutritional supplements.
