Specialists in transmissions for Delta robots

The Wittenstein Group offers a complete range of gearboxes and servoactuators specific for parallel axis robots (Delta): often unique robots - with two, three or four axes - which must integrate perfectly with the handling and sorting systems.

Used in the handling applications of the most varied industrial sectors - primarily food - parallel axis robots (Delta) are integrated in processes with a very high number of cycles and short movements with high dynamics with long operating times; transmissions in which the axles are subjected to multiple stresses and loads.

For these applications, WITTENSTEIN’s offer consists of a large portfolio of high-performance solutions, the result of many years of engineering experience and specific expertise in simulation and innovative software; an integrated know-how that ensures the customer optimal sizing, both from a technical and economic point of view, even for highly dynamic multi-axis motion profiles.

A complete and versatile offer

The WITTENSTEIN proposal ranges from the “simple” compact and precise gearbox, with TP + output flange, to the TPM + high performance servoactuator. Two series are available, both in standard and HIGH TORQUE® versions, particularly suitable when maximum torsional rigidity is required.

Among the gearboxes we point out the DP+ series, specifically designed for Delta applications.

Available with reduction ratios from 16 to 55 and torques from 32 Nm to 992 Nm, it can also be requested in execution for applications in direct contact with food, EHEDG certified. For the primary and secondary packaging processes, in the pharmaceutical industry and in the medical sector, the cyber® dynamic line micromotors, which reach 345 Watts, are highly appreciated.

A system that is completed with the simco® drive compact and intelligent drives, both in the version for electrical cabinet (IP20), and in the decentralized one, with IP65 protection degree.

Like many other solutions, the cyber® dynamic line range is also available in the Hygienic Design version, which is characterized by extreme resistance to corrosion and aggressive substances, high dynamics and power density, easy assembly, low maintenance costs, safety absolute and easy cleaning.

Ad hoc proposals and quality standards of excellence

Based on the analysis of the tasks to be carried out and the boundary conditions, WITTENSTEIN is able to propose the optimal transmission system, specifically identified for each Delta robot, offering reliable components, in line with the highest quality standards. This enables the avoidance of expensive downtime, guaranteeing long life by extending maintenance intervals, and reaching very high speeds, increasing machine productivity.

As an added benefit, WITTENSTEIN solutions ensure a significant energy savings. An example? With servoactuators, with the same productivity, consumption is reduced by up to 50% thanks to the high torsional stiffness.
