State of the art ID for GS1 Germany

Sato (integrated automatic identification and data collection solutions) has supplied its printers CL4NX and CT4i to GS1 Germany’s new Knowledge Center.

The center, unveiled July 1st, 2014 in Cologne, shows in function innovative solutions for automatic identification and data collection (AIDC), adopting interactive communication modalities. The 2,500 m2 space is also equipped with a creative laboratory, spaces dedicated to specific sector experiences and modern conference rooms.
The Sato CL4NX industrial printers manage print functions relevant for “Value Chain Live!” demos, in which GS1 Germany carries out a realistic multimedia presentation of the entire value chain in the various industrial sectors. In the case of a crate of water bottles, the process is shown from filling to transport and delivery and, finally, recovery of the bottle; analogously, in the example of the food industry, it analyzes the processing and packaging of meat.

The live demos also involve the Sato CT4i printers used in the health sector to print bracelets that enable univocal patient identification and minimize errors during treatment or administration of medicines. These same printers can also be set up to print high quality barcodes or labels for bags or blood samples. Their functionality is optimized and tested for contact with bodily fluids, blood, xylene, water and chemical substances generally; equipped with an external antimicrobial chassis, they can be used in environments that require compliance with the strictest hygienic cleaning requirements.
