Yaskawa integrates DX200 robot control with Powerlink
MotoLogix control software enables Yaskawa robots to be integrated into B&R automation environments and those of other Powerlink partners more easily.
As Stefan Schönegger, managing director of the Ethernet Powerlink Standardization Group (EPSG), explains: «Not only has Yaskawa created an interface for Powerlink, but, with MotoLogix, it is also offering the possibility of programming robots in the IEC61131 environment. Commissioning times are drastically reduced, and a higher level of synchronization has been achieved. The advantages of the two high performance systems are thus combined: on one hand, the robot is programmed directly via PLC, and on the other, the high precision offered by the DX200.
Yaskawa Motoman robots can thus be programmed in a standard IEC61131 environment and integrated into corresponding systems; furthermore, productivity and flexibility are enhanced thanks to bidirectional exchange. It will no longer be necessary to have a dedicated control terminal for the robot, and all relevant data for functioning and diagnostics can be recovered and processed through one’s own machine terminal».
