Innovation and investments guide the growth of SEA Vision
SEA Vision has continued its uninterrupted growth in 2019, driven by its extensive technological expertise and significant investments in Italy and abroad.
After posting consolidated revenue of around €58 million in 2018 (up 50% on 2017), the Pavia-based multinational specialising in vision and quality control systems for the pharmaceutical sector has continued its international development and now has branches in 8 countries: Spain, France, Russia, United States, Germany, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, where in May it acquired its competitor Lixis with the aim of boosting its presence in the Latin American market.
For the near future, the company is also planning to expand in the Middle East and Asia, where it is interested in opening new sales branches to support customers in India, China and Indonesia.
Technological innovation is another key area of development. Alongside its core business of quality control and vision systems, the software house is also expanding its operations in the field of industrial automation (data collection, data analysis, predictive maintenance, etc.), a sector it is ready to enter thanks to its data availability and analytical software operations. At the same time it is offering cutting-edge solutions in the field of drug serialisation in accordance with regulations. After completing the adaptation process in Europe, SEA Vision is now preparing for the forthcoming government decisions on drug traceability in other countries which are forcing the entire sector to make substantial investments and technological adjustments.
Alongside its strategic and technological solidity, the company is planning to improve its logistic platform with an €8 million investment at its new site in Pavia, which will bring together all the operations currently scattered across four separate locations. This innovative facility was built with a focus on innovation and environmental sustainability and is designed to facilitate collaboration and support with Research and Development activities.
Thanks to its excellent performance, SEA Vision has been shortlisted for the prestigious BPA 2019 award promoted by SDA Bocconi. The winner of the hot topic 2019 “Best Performer Managerial Excellence”, to be announced on 23 October, will be chosen not just on the basis of economic results but also for the excellence of the top management team.
