RI-AMA: packaging sostenibile per prodotti di qualità

What is it. Sensitive to environmental issues, AMADORI presents in the major large-scale retail chains, an innovative sustainable packaging called RI-AMA characterized by recyclable packaging with printed top film and transparent PET tray with 100% post-consumer recycled content from T2T (tray to tray). This packaging will allow the replacement of the traditional packaging, characterized by an XPS tray and multi-material top film.

Accessibility focus. The RI-AMA packaging of the Sausage pops product allows you to buy a unique meal that is “accessible for the whole family”, that is, without having to buy different dishes for children compared to adults. Accessibility is also found in the fact that RI-AMA packaging offers immediate interaction with the user that allows its use even regardless of experience, knowledge, age and skills.

Manufacturing material. With regard to the thermoformed tray, a thermoforming sheet with a functional barrier and with mono-material characteristics was used, containing a post-consumer r-PET obtained from the recovery of PET trays, which has post-consumer PET percentages equal to 100%. The top film uses an innovative high-performance PET-based polymer material that has a high barrier to gases, external agents and anti-fog, making it possible to achieve the shelf-life requirements of the fresh product.

Product and potential markets. The packaged product and object of the contest is a delicious product suitable for young and old: the "Sausage Pops" tasty bites made with 100% Italian chicken, turkey and pork, guaranteed by the Amadori supply chain. The Sausages Pops emphasize, from the pack to the RI-AMA naming, the lively spirit that characterizes the occasions of consumption, ideal both as a second course and as finger food for aperitifs. However, currently the renewed type of packaging is used for most of the Amadori brand products processed cooked, processed raw and anatomical.

Design & sustainability. The packaging has a rectangular shape with a tray size of 232 x 146 (mm), H 27 (cm) and a weight of 18.14 (g). The creation of packaging with recyclability characteristics is quite strategic thanks to a circular approach that allows the use of polymers for all AMADORI packaging that can then be totally recycled at the end of their life. All this is also in line with the provisions of the New Proposal for a Regulation under discussion relating to Packaging and Packaging Waste (PPWR). The innovation in this AMADORI packaging has made it possible to bring important benefits in terms of environmental impact, making it possible to obtain an accessible, responsible, safe, forward-looking, sustainable, educational and informative packaging.
