New arrival in Bonfiglioli
The Bologna company reinforces its electronics segment, acquiring the Selcom Group which is specialised in the design, production and sale of electronic boards and products.
Bonfiglioli, global leader in drives for process and industrial handling machines, wind generators and mobile machinery for construction, earthmoving and intralogistics, has announced the acquisition of Selcom Group S.p.A. from funds controlled by Avenue Capital Group and Europa Investimenti S.p.A.
Selcom Group, headquartered in Castel Maggiore (BO), is specialised in the design, production and sale of electronic boards, electronic products, as well as software and solutions for customers in the industrial, biomedical, automotive, intra-logistics and home-appliance sectors. The company, with 750 employees across 4 production plants in Italy and 2 plants in Shanghai (Qingpu), recorded a turnover in 2022 of approximately 150 million euros, of which 60% from Italian production, generating +15% growth over the previous year. With Selcom, which has a production capacity of 7 million electronic units/year, Bonfiglioli strengthens its electronics segment established in 2001 with the acquisition of the German company Vectron Elektronik, today Bonfiglioli Vectron, the group company that designs and produces electronic drives for electric motors mainly for industrial uses.
With the new acquisition, Bonfiglioli increases its development capacity, ensuring greater production verticalization, greater competitiveness and a stronger control of quality standards in the light of the constant growth of Industry 4.0, robotics and electrified systems that increasingly require mechatronic and electronic systems.
The completion of the operation is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
