Berry Global Group completes acquisition of RPC Group Plc

Following the announcement in March, RPC Group Plc (UK), one of Europe’s largest producers of plastic packaging, has officially handed over the reins of the company to US firm Berry Global Group (NYSE: BERY).

The $6.5 billion deal will create one of the world’s largest producers of plastic packaging and value-added protective solutions with 290 locations worldwide (including locations in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia), more than 48,000 employees and sales of approximately $13 billion.

The combined know-how of the two companies will create approximately $150 million in annual synergies, with new developments in innovative materials that will expand the group’s offerings and enhance its long-term outlook
Berry Global Group has long been involved in sustainable projects aimed at reducing the use of materials and creating fully recyclable solutions such as the Versalite disposable to-go cup recently launched onto the market (see photo).
