Partnership. COIM Group and Nordmeccanica together for an adhesive technology solution

Nordmeccanica (major manufacturer of coating, laminating and metallising systems) and the COIM Group (manufacturer of chemical specialties, including adhesives and coatings which with the Novacote brand, are used to make multilayer laminates in flexible packaging) have joined forces in a cooperation aimed at the development of an adhesive technology enabling  high production and quality.

It is known that in solventless lamination there are production speed limitations when converting barrier compounds. This is the case of metallized films, foil and polymers highly impermeable to oxygen and moisture. The development of a technology that combines the benefit of a proper formulation as well as of a proper coating technique inspired the cooperation between the two industry leaders. The outcome of the research and development project were presented to the two EMEA sales networks at a meeting organized on January 30th at the Nordmeccanica research center. The outstanding optical and bond qualities achieved during the demonstration of the new technology  impressed all attendees. The new technology will be officially presented to the industry; all details will be released.
