Taghleef Industries and Lineapack - Soft cheese packaging
Soft cheese packaging SUSTAINABLE | RESPONSIBLE | SAFE
What it is. Soft cheese packaging, made with a high-barrier film with a high recycled and recyclable plastic content.
Materials. The EXTENDO® rcXTMH film used for this packaging combines the advantages of BOPP with protection performances similar to those of traditional polymers; the excellent barrier performance (to oxygen, water, aromas and mineral oils) is combined with sustainability requirements, given the significant recycled plastic content.
Product or target market. Soft cheese in single-portion format.
Design. The proposed solution is in line with the trends of the European dairy market, an extremely dynamic segment that, in order to adapt to new lifestyles and a widespread awareness of the issue of sustainability, is called upon to meet a growing demand for single-portion packaging, made with recycled and/or recyclable packaging materials, in the name of "circularity".
Technology. EXTENDO® rcXTMH is part of Taghleef Industries' reLIFE™ range, which includes BOPP solutions with granules derived from the chemical recycling process of post-consumer plastics, which can also be reused for food applications, thanks to the process of chemical degradation and subsequent polymerization. Thanks to its properties, EXTENDO® rcXTMH can be used in both monomaterial and laminated structures.
Sustainability. In line with the principle of replacing fossil-based resources, EXTENDO® high barrier films have a recycled plastic content that makes them compliant with ISCC Plus mass balance certification standards. Thanks to their very low thickness, they allow significant savings in raw material and a consequent reduction in packaging weight. They are also designed to be sent to the mechanical recycling chain, and thus return to new life. To ensure the sustainability of our processes, starting with the management of raw materials, Taghleef Industries is certified according to the requirements of the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification.
