SPS Italia - Smart Production Solutions 2020
26- 28 May 2020, Parma - The fair organized by Messe Frankfurt Italia “changes” name.
And it is indeed SPS-Smart Production Solution that engages from May 26th to 28th 2020 for the tenth edition, where the opening of a new thematic area dedicated to Additive Technologies completes the picture of products and services for industrial automation and for the intelligent, digital and flexible concern.
«Thanks to the collaboration of the many partners that in ten years have encouraged and determined the development and evolution, SPS Italia has become the main event for the manufacturing sector guided by a renewed business culture for industrial automation and for intelligent, digital and flexible iconcern».
This is how Donald Wich, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Italia, began by stressing that: «A development made of people and projects has been realized this year featuring numerous new initiatives, including an area dedicated to additive manufacturing, a field already within the competence of the Messe Frankfurt group through Formnext, the most important technology fair connected to additive manufacturing». In the new area within “District 4.0” hence themes will be developed such as Design/Product Development, Materials for Additive Manufacturing, Solutions for Additive Manufacturing, Prototyping/Digitization, Services.
The lead-up to the fair
Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is increasingly used in various industrial sectors (aerospace, automotive, medical, dental, mechanical, oil & gas, construction, health) and, obviously, also in the packaging sector as regards both the realization of prototypes as well as the mass production of machines and their spare parts. The advantages? Weight reduction, new bionic structures, greater design freedom, new products and greater efficiency.
The first of the traveling events that traditionally take place before SPS will be dedicated to 3D printing. On January 30th in Milan, at the Bovisa Polytechnic, the “Smart Production: Additive Manufacturing as an enabling technology for Industry 4.0”, in collaboration with the Made Milan Competence Center and supported by Formnext, will be held. The theme will be dealt with across different sectors (mechanics, automotive and aerospace).
It will be followed by the industrial software forum “Digital competitiveness: beyond industry 4.0” which will also take place in Milan on February 6th at the Leonardo Da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum, in the Sala Cavallerizze. (M.C.)
