1 km of Interroll MCP for ePRICE

According to data from the eCommerce B2C Netcomm-School of Management Polimi, the e-commerce market shows figures in strong growth: the value of online purchases in 2017 was € 23.6 billion, + 17% compared to the previous year.

The increase registered has led ePRICE (the first Italian operator in e-commerce) to review the logistics of its catalogue. Hence the decision to build a new large storage facilities near Milan, entrusting the design and construction to the system integrator Incas (who developed and engineered the distribution site starting from “green field”). Incas for its part has turned to Interroll for the handling technology, creating a site that, in terms of effectiveness and flexibility, will be able to support the volume developments expected in the sector.
 
High tech handling. The warehouse is fully automated and enables shipments of online purchases made on ePRICE to be handled more effectively.
The pallets disassembled in packs are moved inbound towards the storage warehouse on Interroll modular conveyor platforms (MCP) and from the warehouse they always travel on MCPs to the picking area for the preparation of orders in the outbound phase, where the weighing, strapping, barcode reading, label printing and labeling is carried out.

The Interroll technology handling plant presents truly remarkable numbers: total length of the installed Interroll modular conveyor platform (MCP) is almost 1 km (920 m). 10,150 rollers, 560 RollerDrives and as many photocells were installed with the MCP.
The main element of the platform is a robust modular system that incorporates the key elements of the assembled transport systems to form a complete solution. Thanks to the modularity of the platform, Interroll guarantees the speed required by the design for a very quick commissioning. The modules, for the most part pre-assembled, make installation on the system simple. The operation is easy thanks to the independently adjustable side rails, to smoothly running adjustable stands, the crosspieces for integrated electric ducts and to spaces that can be used for the fixing parts.
To reach the different MCP levels, Interroll has also installed RM6008 elevators.
