Smart, modular and efficient intralogistics
At SPS IPC Drives, Parma, Interroll presented its state-of-the-art range for material handling, intralogistics, and transport, a concrete example of its “4.0” vision. Here are but a few.
RollerDrive. Decentralized drive and modularity: These are the two innovative principles that allow automatic handling of “targeted” materials, customizable according to the specific requirements of individual facilities. Instead of the traditional central drives RollerDrive motorised systems in fact can operate 24 hours a day regardless of the actual amount of transported material, being equipped with motors located on each transport zone, which switch on or off independently with the passage of material: Only the required RollerDrives are in fact turned on, enabling energy savings of up to 50%, as well as a drastic reduction in noise and wear. Existing centralized systems are suitable for retrofitting: In many cases one can continue to use the old conveyor rollers, only one roller needs to be replaced with RollerDrive in each area of transport. A wide range of control units provides simple and flexible integration in a variety of applications.
Drum motor: the new modular generation. Ideal for use in belt conveyors in distribution centers, manufacturing and food industries, the new generation of Interroll drum motors, available in both synchronous and asynchronous versions, has a completely modular structure that ensures shorter production times and speedier, more reliable delivery.
Its plug and play solution facilitates assembly, which is speedy due to the easy and intuitive combination of all components. In addition, power is transmitted by means of a simple plug-in connection. Thus maintenance or repair stops are noticeably reduced, with considerable economic benefits to the user. Stronger axes and bearings guarantee a long service life; a stable epicyclical reducer allows high torque transmissions on the respective conveyor belt with very low noise levels; thanks to a greater number of transmissions, a wider range of speeds can also be chosen from.
These engines ensure a unique energy efficiency with extremely low power loss that for users entails a drastic reduction in operating costs.
With an IP69K protection class rating, the highest in terms hygiene, the system is quick and easy to clean.
Components for the factory of tomorrow
Where processes upstream and downstream from production are evermore automated, the commands evermore robotised, remote and determined by cyberphysical systems, the quality of the motion components plays an evermore important role in the new connected and communicating industry. In the light of these considerations, Claudio Carnino, sales had and country speaker of Interroll Italia, reiterates the Group’s proactive involvement and constant commitment to redevising its offer of solutions, on the basis of technological standards of what is rightly defined as the new “industrial revolution”.
«The world of industrial production is undergoing renewal, it is extending itself. And this means we are directly called upon to constantly adapt our solutions to the current needs of system integrators and end customers, offering them the “smartest” solutions on the market, to the total benefit of productivity. Our R&D section is busy turning out “visionary” components where maximum usability combines with top technology, with an ever greater attention to ROI, to the environment in general and the working environment in particular».
