The flower that mesmerises

Moments of wonder and emotion for the installation curated by Pixartprinting at the former Ansaldo factory site, for the Design Week in April.

Protagonists in the world of European Upload&Print, the  Quarto d’Altino based company for the occasion best interpreted its role as cultural contents creator: the work titled “The pleasure of stealing your soul” has in fact been conceived for a long life - it will be visible for another 5 months at Base Milano area - and hence will be the point of departures for the production of other contents, as well as source of inspiration for artists and designers.

Visions of pleasure. Example of interactive design the spaces of the Ansaldo host an enormous flower made up of many small colored flowers. Practically speaking, animated by an electric motor programmed with Arduino technology, the petals blossom to infinity, with almost unlimited combinations of movement, creating a harmonious and hypnotic effect. The surprise though lies at the heart of the installation, which gives off a ray of light that dazzles the spectator, while a hidden cameras “steals” the moment of wonderment on the faces of the visitors to share them with the world, projecting the images onto a panel placed outside the building.
The installation tells us a lot about the soul of Pixartprinting: a concentrate of creative capacity dialoguing with technology. All the printed components of the installation have been made by the Venetian web2printer, which allows one to imagine the many uses of the materials that the company turns to for producing printed matter, display cases and packaging.
