S.Bernardo launches helical-shaped 100% recycled plastic bottles
S.Bernardo is preparing for the May launch of a new 100% recycled and sustainable mineral water bottle with a helical shape and decorative droplets arranged in a Fibonacci sequence. The new bottle is produced at the company’s Garessio plant which is powered by clean and natural wind energy.
This launch is the latest step in a sustainable development strategy that began when the company started offering water in returnable glass bottles and 100% recyclable aluminium cans.
The new bottle is completely recyclable and, like all S.Bernardo PET bottles bearing the droplet mark, is made entirely from recycled plastic. Recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) has the same properties as traditional PET and preserves the original purity of the mineral water.
“We are committed to supporting and expanding the virtuous circle of reuse and recycling. This is why we have joined the national consortium of PET food packaging producers Coripet which works to raise consumer awareness and promote bottle-to-bottle recycling,” explained Antonio Biella, General Manager of S.Bernardo.
The company currently uses PET packaging containing 50% recycled material in full compliance with European regulations.
