Acqua Sant’Anna invests €10 million in Industry 4.0 technology
Acqua Sant’Anna is set to invest €10 million to boost the efficiency and automation of its plant in Vinadio (CN), Italy. In addition to a new bottling line, new LGV robots will be introduced at the modern site, which has been refurbished in accordance with the latest green building standards. This will bring the total number of units to 45 by February 2021. As well as guaranteeing over 99.5% precision and a high degree of safety, the vehicles run on environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries.
“In a difficult year that has placed the national economy and the majority of companies under severe strain, we wanted to continue to invest because we strongly believe in our development potential. This will require continuous modernisation and upgrading to optimise production efficiency,” said Alberto Bertone, chairman and CEO of Acqua Sant’Anna.
The plant now has a capacity of around 3.5 billion bottles per year thanks to state-of-the-art lines capable of bottling up to 81,000 bottles per hour. Two years ago, the company invested €50 million in 5 new bottling lines, which alongside the existing 10 make up a total of 12 lines for water and 3 for beverages. Following the new investment, the number of lines will now reach 16, further increasing daily production capacity.
As a result of its constant focus on innovation and production development, the company has tripled its turnover over the last 10 years to reach €320 million in 2019.
