Marchesini Group closes acquisition of CMP PHAR.MA
After announcing the acquisition of a 60% interest last December, on 13 May this year Marchesini Group closed the acquisition of CMP PHAR.MA, a company based in Costabissara (Vicenza, Italy) specialising in inspection systems for the pharmaceutical sector.
CMP was the first company in the world to introduce an automatic laser-ray vial inspection machine.
The company subsequently strengthened its position and built up a portfolio that now includes a wide range of automatic and semi-automatic inspection machines for vials, containers, pre-filled syringes, infusion bags and freeze-dried products.
Diversification and growth in production have boosted the company’s turnover, which in 2018 exceeded €9 million, 35% up on the previous year.
The acquisition of CMP will enable Marchesini Group to further expand its already extensive product portfolio (consisting of stand-alone machines and complete lines capable of packaging all pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry products from upstream to downstream), thereby effectively also covering the inspection and control stages.
