Emilia-based packaging giant EMS Group formed
The Luxembourg-based private equity firm Xenon has acquired 100% of the capital of Mectra (Montecchio, Reggio Emilia) and its associated companies (Emmeti in Montecchio and the Parma-based firms Sipac and Logik).
The merger has led to the creation of Ems Group, an Emilia-based packaging giant with revenues of €130 million and 290 employees and a strong focus on exports, which account for 75% of production.
By bringing together different skills and areas of specialisation, EMS Group is able to supply a wide range of products and services, including complete lines for the glass industry, transport lines and palletisation/depalletisation systems for the PET/HDPE container and bottling industries, box-making, food, petfood and can-making. It also has market shares in the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical sectors.
The newly-formed group has a solid financial position and organisational structure as well as the flexibility and capacity to create customised products. It is ready to ready to grasp the potential of the sector at an international level. The forecasts point to annual growth of 6% for glass conveying systems and 2% for palletisation and cartoning of glass products.
