The Virtuous Circle Project

Six months ago, DuPont and a number of partners launched a ground-breaking pilot project in South Africa on nutrition, food waste, packaging and the circular economy called “the Virtuous Circle”. The challenge? Developing a “best practice” of multilayer plastic packaging that keeps food safe for longer, reduces waste, and is recyclable.  

The Virtuous Circle project, coordinated by DuPont, distributes highly nutritious foods to children in need, kept fresh for longer by innovative multilayer packaging.
Now, on behalf of all partners in the Virtuous Circle project, DuPont is pleased to invite members to visit the Dupont’s stand ( and speak with our experts about the Virtuous Circle project, as well as Dupont’s latest innovations. Topics include:   
- Interactive exhibitions that show how multilayer plastic waste from school lunches is being turned into school desks and low-cost housing
A panel discussion with implementing partners of the Virtuous Circle project, sharing new R&D findings on recycling of multilayer packaging film (8 May, 16:00-17:00)
- Briefings on DuPont’s portfolio, including information on meat packaging, dry food and recycling
- Discussion with Barry Morris, the author of the recently published “The Science and Technology of Flexible Packaging”
