3D: the new design release
A complete package of 3D software enables new levels of productivity in all industrial sectors to be achieved.
Dassault Systèmes (technologies of virtual reality and 3D simulation software for the design and management of the product lifecycle) presents SolidWorks ® 2014, a comprehensive software portfolio for 3D CAD design, simulation, product data management, technical communication and electrical design.
The new SolidWorks 2014 release provides enhanced productivity and ease of use: thanks to significant improvements in terms of productivity, workflow and mobility, users can re-use the data in a more dynamic way, accelerating the sharing of design data to support collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle. The additional support in terms of mobility for Android and iOS devices allows more than 2.1 million Solidworks users to be always connected to the wealth of 3D design projects, without limits of space and time.
Some examples. New features such as the “history tab”, which enables multiple users to view and track the changes of a recent project with a simple click, are essential for working in a collaborative manner. Other improvements, such as the pairings for assemblies, called “common-mates” offer smart alternatives based on previous modes of use and introduce new options useful when processing assemblies.
The main features and enhancements that characterize Solidworks 2014 include: various aspects of the control of the shape; the integrated workflow; productivity increase due to the improvement of methods of communication, collaboration and budgeting; the enhanced display.
On top of that, the sharing of 3D models from the earliest design stages can be facilitated by the creation of physical prototypes with the technologies of Solidworks partners specialized in three-dimensional printing.
