Packaging Speaks Green
Editorial by Stefano Lavorini
Sustainability and profitability: this is the theme we have to deal with today, while looking ahead to tomorrow.
By now we are all convinced of this, even if the matter remains undefined, opaque and not very intelligible: for consumers, who are increasingly aware that they must choose the “right” products/packaging - by now an inseparable pair - without, however, understanding in practice what this corresponds to in terms of characteristics and price; for producers of materials and packaging, who drive innovation while struggling against a complex national and European regulatory framework in continuous and chaotic evolution… you just have to think of how collection and recycling are managed in the various countries.
These “truths” - recently recalled among others by Alberto Palaveri, CEO Sacchital Group and president of Giflex during the interesting webinar “Youth, Business, Europe: the way to build the future” - do not detract from the need to design our “magnificent and progressive fate”, constantly improving knowledge and skills.
Starting from the evidence that Sustainability is a complex issue, not only for companies but also for consumers - at the center of what was discussed during the Forum “Packaging Speaks Green” held on 20 and 21 February 2020(*) - a new digital magazine with the same name, Packaging Speaks Green, was born, edited by authoritative professionals in the information sector with a long history behind them: ItaliaImballaggio, Packmedia.net,, Macplas and Macplas Online have joined forces to create a digital magazine, in Italian and English, dedicated to the world of sustainable packaging.
Online since June 1, packagingspeaksgreen.com wants to give voice to technology, raw materials and sustainable packaging in an increasingly circular economy.
Thanks to its founders, this new webmagazine can already count on over 160,000 readers worldwide, who will receive a monthly newsletter, in Italian and English, featuring a selection of content published on the site.
The topics cover all aspects of the supply chain: from technology to the market, from raw materials to sustainable packaging, from industry events to updates on regulations.
A new communication and information tool that we hope will be really useful to enter a field that is still largely undiscovered, such as Sustainability, which is open to multiple and often discordant interpretations, also because there are many economic interests at stake, often hidden.
A tool that we hope will help you to constantly verify your ideas, so as to transform them, in daily practice, from simple hypotheses to concrete facts.
Happy reading.
