ICE englobes cardboard and looks east
With a further increase of visitors (+16%) compared to the previous edition of 2011, ICE Europe 2013 registered the highest ever attendance figures achieved by the biennial Bavarian converting show.
At the Messe München exhibition center, 19th to 21st March, 6,600 visitors from 64 countries (44% non-German), were able to see the web-based material converting systems of 401 exhibitors from 19 countries (covering 10.100 sqms of floorspace). Responses to the survey promoted by the organizers asking visitors to declare the areas they were most interested in were as follows: coating and laminating (54%), slitting and winding (51%), flexographic and rotogravure printing (29%), accessories (29%), materials (28%), monitoring, testing and measurement (26%), finishing (24%), customised coating/converting/slitting (21%), drying and vulcanisation (19%).
Undoubtedly positive the concurrence with the first edition of CCE International, the B2B trade show focused on corrugated and folding cardboard converting. The new event, which attracted 2,040 international visitors, not counted in ICE 2013 figures, has indeed filled a gap in the European fair panorama, where an event dedicated to this specific sector has been lacking for some time.
On the exhibition front, CCE registered the participation of 110 companies from 15 countries covering 3,300 net sqm, 27 of which Italian: indeed Italy fielded the largest national grouping, even larger than Germany, amounting to 19 companies.
The offer, high-level, satisfied visitors as well as the exhibitors of both areas, convinced that a high-level event could but only be a boon to the two events organized by Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd.
ICE Europe 2015 will be held March 24th to 26th at the Munich Trade Fair Centre and the coming year will feature ICE Asia, 17th to 19th September 2014 at the Shanghai Mart (China).
