The two entities, one a Drupa organizer and the other a representative of the Chinese print systems industry and sponsor of the Print+Print China fairs, are launching a new joint event for the occasion of the upcoming China Print 2013 (Peking, May 14th-18th).
Called “Functional Printing China”, it is a yearly conference on the most important topics relating to functional printing, and, starting with the 2014 edition, it will include an exhibition area. During the conference, experts from around the world will present reports on trends, solutions and applications of functional printing and printed electronics.
This year, speakers will include Wolfgang Mildner (CEO of PolyIC and a member of the German sector association VDM), Stan Farnsworth (Vice President of NovaCentrix, USA), and Martin Schmitt Lewen (Senior R&D Manager for new printing applications at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG). According to a recent study by the China Printing Technology Association, the Middle Kingdom’s functional printing sector will have grown by 21% between 2009 and 2016, reaching a value of 955 million euro. The fields of application are many and varied: medicine, consumer electronics, packaging of diverse materials.
