PLAST 2015 Fiera Milano, 5- 9 May 2015
The positive economic situation that characterizes the plastics industry (see box) is confirmed by the forecast growth in attendance at PLAST 2015 (the International Plastics and Rubber Industries Fair organized by Promaplast Srl.) and its “satellite shows” Rubber and 3D Plast, scheduled in Milan in conjunction with the opening week of EXPO, May 5 to 9 next.
A few months from the inauguration in fact, the number of registered exhibitors has topped 1,200 (+3.9% compared to the same period three years ago) with an intensive and homogeneous filling of all six halls of PLAST, dedicated to different sectors and categories.
This too a sign of the sector’s ability to renew itself constantly and attract more new exhibitors and visitors.
The success and, indeed, the strengthening of PLAST are also confirmed by the increase in first time Italian and foreign exhibitors at the fair.
Interesting initiatives have been put in place to facilitate the osmosis of visitors from EXPO to PLAST: Ticket holders for access to the world event will enter PLAST 2015 free of charge, prior to registration at the desks. Moreover, given the importance of the foreign market for the sector and to strengthen the internationality of the Show, the secretariat has taken steps to contact the embassies of the countries participating at EXPO, suggesting the presence of plastics and rubber entrepreneurs in the foreign delegations visiting early May.
Facilitated access to the fair is also provided for those who pre-register on the fair website (www.plastonline.org).
The conferences. Among the events already defined for the days of the fair, we cite the inaugural conference, which will see the award ceremony of the design competition “Plastic Technologies Award” and the conference “Virtual modeling and additive rapid prototyping (3D printing) for advanced materials” . Not to be missed the symposium “Innovation, safety and sustainability of plastic packaging for food”.
