Rimini Packology: focus on Corporate Social Responsibility, 11th to 14th June 2013
Corporate social responsibility will be one of the principal themes of Packology, the fair-event to be held in Rimini from 11th to 14th June. The opening day, June 11th, will be dedicated to issues related to this topic of growing interest to companies working in the packaging & wrapping field.
The task of giving an overall picture and making some thematic analysis has been assigned to CSR Europe, the leading European network that deals with these issues, with more than 5,000 member companies. The day will be divided into two main parts. In the morning, a seminar will illustrate the current trends of sustainable packaging (Life cycle assessment approach), will analyze the sectorial performance of packaging machine builders and packaging makers, presenting the expectations of customers, regulators and stakeholders. Lastly, the best practices for success in collaborative sharing for the development of sustainable supply chains will be described. The afternoon will be divided instead into two thematic workshops. The first, entitled "Reducing food waste and packaging: a challenge for Research & Development” will deal with topical issues: reducing the ecological footprint, how to combine resource depletion with population growth, reduce waste and landfills, the present scenarios and activities of the European Union and will analyze the point of view of consumers.
The second workshop, entitled "Collaboration in the value chain on the theme of social innovation for greater competitiveness: packaging innovation as a means of differentiation and cost containment "will present the current trends and share instances of successful collaborations.
