Compostable capsules for US coffee

Massimo Zanetti Beverage, one of the biggest US coffee roasters (but with parent company  in the province of Treviso) has announced the introduction onto the US market, by the end of the year, of the first line of  100%  compostable coffee capsules.

The new format, PurPod100™ will by the end of the summer obtain the certification of the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI), that hence vouches that it is recyclable, biodegradable and naturally decomposable  without toxic residue. The  PurPod100™ format, developed by Club Coffee of Canada, will be applied to all the capsules produced in the  USA with the brands Chock full o’Nuts®, Hills Bros.®, Kauai Coffee® and Segafredo Zanetti® for the retail, foodservice and online purchase markets.
